Frances and Sam Fried Holocaust and Genocide Educational Fund
formerly the Heartland Holocaust Education Fund that there is a moral imperative to ensure that the mass atrocities of the Holocaust never happen again. Our mission is to provide Holocaust and Genocide education courses to institutions of higher learning across the Heartland in an effort to foster understanding, compassion and mutual respect. Our efforts enable future generations to stand strong and vow “Never Again.”
We sponsor perpetually funded college-level Holocaust education programs at universities and colleges, where we teach today’s youth to protect America’s defining doctrine of equality and respect for men and women of all races and faiths. Our program makes a critical difference in the lives of our future leaders as they gain a greater understanding of the lingering and serious impact of the Holocaust and acts of genocide in our world today.
Through generous support of caring donors, the Frances and Sam Fried Holocaust and Genocide Educational Fund has financed Holocaust education courses for students at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Creighton University in Omaha, and other colleges and universities in our region. Our goal is to ensure that this important work of creating responsibility for the human community continues through this vital education program. By working together, we can help create a future filled with the promise of security and freedom for all humankind.
It is our deepest hope that, someday, genocide will truly be an aberration of the past.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world, indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”— Margaret Mead
